Cleanup for seasonal homes
Yard and Storm Cleanup for Snowbirds
Hurricane season runs right through the months you are away. When limbs and debris land in your yard, Jeff can clear them and haul them off.
Hurricane Season Runs June 1 to November 30
Those dates come from the National Hurricane Center. For many snowbirds, that is nearly the whole time the house sits empty. Plan for it now, not when a storm is on the news.
Hearing About It From a Neighbor, Far From Home
You see the storm on the news up north. A few days later, a neighbor sends a picture of a big limb across your lawn, or your yard full of palm fronds and somebody else's fence panel. Now you are making phone calls from another state to people who are all swamped, and none of them know you.
Debris that sits causes its own trouble. It kills the grass under it, it can hold standing water, and it tells anyone driving by that nobody is home. In a community with upkeep rules, it can also bring a complaint.
It helps to have someone already lined up. Talk to Jeff while you are still here, and you have his number and he knows your place. After a big storm everyone is busy, so we will not promise a time. What you get is someone who knows your place and tells you straight when he can get there.
What Jeff Clears and Hauls
- Fallen limbs and branches
- Palm fronds and yard debris
- Damaged fence panels and boards
- Old furniture and junk
- Garage and shed cleanouts
- Tree trimming to get ahead of the next storm
Getting Ahead of the Season
Most of the work that helps happens before anyone has named a storm.
Before you leave
Trim limbs that hang over the roof. Clear gutters. Bring in or store patio furniture and anything that could blow around.
During the season
Keep the yard trimmed and tidy so less is loose when wind comes through. Leave your contact details with a neighbor and your homeowners association.
After a storm
Call Jeff about clearing and hauling. Anything that looks like roof or structural damage should go to the right licensed company and your insurance agent.
“He came and cleaned up stuff I've been needing done for years that I couldn't get anyone else to do!”

What to Do Next
If you are getting ready to leave, read our guide to hurricane season when you are up north for the full list. If you just want the heavy stuff gone, Jeff also does regular junk removal and hauling.
Take Pictures Before You Go
Walk the yard with your phone before you leave and take photos of the trees, the fence, the roofline and the sprinklers. If a storm comes through, those pictures show how things looked before it. They make it much easier to explain what changed to your insurance agent, and to anyone you call about the cleanup. Keep them in your phone or email, not only on a computer in the house.
Storm Cleanup Questions
Jeff does not run an after-hours emergency line. He is open 7 days a week, and after a big storm he will tell you honestly when he can get to your place.
Roof and structural damage should go to a licensed company and your insurance agent. Jeff can clear and haul the yard debris.
Yes, hauling is part of the job. Jeff loads it, hauls it and disposes of it, so it does not end up in a pile at your curb.
